Introduction to the Organizational Practice
Wednesday, September 18th featured the first organizational practice of the 2020 season, at the Libro Centre in Amherstburg.
Prior to practice starting, the players from all teams were address by Selects GM John Picco - where he discussed the expectations for players.
Players broke into position groups to get work done, where the 18u players were able to begin their mentor-ship roles with the younger players.
The occasional opportunity for all 3 teams to work-out together gives everyone in the organization the chance to bond and push each other to improve. This first one was an eye-opener for the newcomer 15u players, as they had their first experience of being on the field with the older, stronger 18u players.
Teams will get back to work this week, with single team workouts.
In game action this week: the 15u Selects are schedule to play a pair of doubleheaders vs the Great Lakes Canadians (Saturday in Dorchester, Sunday in Woodslee).
The 18u Selects visit the Tecumseh Thunder 18u on Saturday (1 9-inning game), then make their way to Henry Ford College on Sunday for a doubleheader vs. the HFCC Hawks.
